The responsibility for all risks arising within the Dosan is borne by the legally responsible parents. Additionally, if any actions occur within the Dosan that fail to maintain dignity or lower the atmosphere, thereby damaging the reputation, the membership of the individual involved will be immediately revoked. For example, it is prohibited to speak ill of other members, spread unverified information as if it were true, or engage in gossip about students and parents. Furthermore, transmitting incorrect information related to the museum to external parties is not permitted.

Please carefully review the volunteer guidelines below. Once you have completed your volunteer work, upload the results to the designated folder. The coordinator will evaluate them and assign volunteer points.​

* Volunteer Guidelines

1. Shorts Videos, Videos, and Cartoons

      1) Shorts Video (1 minute * 20 hours)

      2) Video (1 minute * 20 hours * video length)

      3) Cartoon: Approximately 20 frames (30 hours)

2. Composing Music on Dosan and Museum Themes (40 hours)

3. Other Activities:

   1) Promoting Videos and Cartoons (Bonus Points): If you promote your created work and upload evidence to the designated folder, the coordinator will evaluate and assign volunteer hours.

   2) Student Zoom Meetings (5 hours)

   3) Museum Site Tours (40 hours/1 day) (80 hours/1 night 2 days)

   4) Participating in Museum Events (40 hours)

   5) Visiting Historical Sites Individually and Creating Results with Certification Photos (20 hours)

   6) Attending Online Lectures on Ahn Chang-ho (20 hours) (Parents can also attend (10/10 hours) and the student’s score will be supplemented.) (Instructor: Instructor: SANG WON PARK, Ph.D/Ed.D)

* Reference Materials: You can use the “San Francisco: A City of Korean-American History” (available in both Korean and English) posted on the website.

​

* AI cannot be used for the content of Shorts or Videos, but it can be used for design and other tasks.

​

* Shorts videos will receive higher bonus points based on views and likes compared to regular videos.

​

* Students should upload their created content to the museum drive, and the museum will post it on their YouTube account. Afterward, students will begin self-promoting their work.

You can create and submit your results during the period from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026. After all activities are completed, the results will be evaluated, and the points will be accumulated and verified. Based on this, awards will be granted according to the PVSA criteria. * What is a PVSA Certifying Organization?
   A certifying organization is an entity authorized to grant the PVSA to volunteers after reviewing the application and evaluation process.

​

* Example of Historical Site Tours with the Museum
   2025: Ridley Korean Immigration History Memorial, the site of Lee Seung-man, Ahn Chang-ho, and the Burgess Hotel, the monument erected at the site of the Danube Korean Presbyterian Church.

   2026: Public Association, Sanghang Korean Methodist Church, Palace Hotel, Ferry Building, Angel Island State Park.​
